about

story

My process begins with an encounter and develops organically, allowing ideas to sit, mature and evolve rather than prematurely birthing them into existence. I seek to disassemble the fragments of reality I experience and reassemble them into something new.

Symbolism becomes the language of that transformation: a way of giving form to what can be felt, remembered or imagined, but never quite explained.

PHILOSOPHY

creating has never been a job, or hobby, or pastime; it’s an obsession. I never became an “artist”;

I wrestled with my own potential and lost.

i am drawn to things that resist explanation: myth, religion, desire, death, beauty, dreams, love, the ghosts that linger behind ordinary things.

METHODOLOGY

everything is capable of being art. not because everything is beautiful, but because everything has the capacity to move us. A pavement, a cathedral, a lover, a wound, a corpse, a sonnet, a conversation overheard on the train;

art exists in the encounter between ourselves and the world, in that strange moment when something outside of us manages to reach out and pierce something within us.

My purpose is therefore not to manufacture beauty, but to pay attention: to experience deeply, to be moved, and to translate those encounters into something another person might encounter in turn.
